Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

For over 40 years one of the top attractions in Palm Springs has been the aerial tramway. The tram soars 8,500 feet above Palm Springs and gives riders some of the most breath taking views of the city.
The Swiss made tram cars take passengers on a 15 minute ride as they journey up Chino Canyon before reaching Mountain Station. The station features things such as restaurants, gift shops, a visitor's center and snack bars. Be sure to dress a little warm as with the increase in elevation comes with a decrease in temperature. You can practically feel the temp drop 30 degrees as you make your way up the mountain.
Once you reach the top of the mountain, you can take your time by wandering though the lush green pine trees during the summer or try your hand at some cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snow tubbing during the winter months.
For those that are looking to grab a bite to eat, try hitting the Top of the Tram Restaurant in Mountain Station. There is also a picnic area in Long Valley where guests can get down to some good old fashioned barbecuing. The Desert View Trail is the perfect spot to take in some scenery from 10,000 feet up and is the area where you can enter the hiking trail system.
No matter if you go during the winter or summer, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the perfect way to get some of the most amazing views of the area.
