Looking for a way to spend the entire day while in Palm Springs? Try checking out the Palm Springs Art Museum. With an art gallery, a natural science gallery and the Annenberg Theater, there is something for everybody.

Visitors can wander through the spacious art wings and take in some of the 19th century and classic American artwork before checking out some of the bold and contemporary exhibits. A variety of selection miniature rooms is perfect for visitors regardless of age. The collection continues to emphasize modern and contemporary art that focuses on California.

The nature science wing is dedicated to the excitement of wildlife. Dioramas display the natural habitat of desert creatures such as sidewinders, rattlesnakes, kangaroo rats, gilamonsters, scorpions, lizards and tortoises. Gusts can get a glimpse into the animal's nocturnal lifestyle, how they are able to survive the scorching heat as well how their behavior changes from day to night. From October through April, the museum also offers a variety of nature hikes that can range from easy to strenuous. Hikers can explore the desert canyons, palm oases and the wilderness areas that surround Mt. San Jacinto State Park.

For those that are seeking a little bit more culture, the Annenberg Theater may be right up their alley. Widely known for its wondrous acoustics, the 450 seat theater continuously hosts dance, music and theatrical performances from around the world. The theater has also hosted the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Looking to just take a couple of minutes and catch your breath before heading off to the next exhibit or just waiting for your performance to start? Take a seat over at the Toor Gallery Cafe and enjoy a cup of coffee or maybe wander over to the Museum Store and look for that perfect souvenir.

No matter whether you are into modern artwork, music or the creatures that roam through the desert, the Pam Springs Art Museum has got what you are looking for.
