Searching for a little bit of Hollywood while out in Palm Springs? Then try taking a trip over to one of the hottest nightspots, Muriel's Supper Club. In the golden era of Hollywood, Muriel's was frequented by celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Dinah Shore and Marilyn Monroe.
With a heavily American influenced cuisine, Muriel's has become the leader in the renaissance in Palm Springs. Instead of creating just another throwback to days gone by, the team at Muriel's had managed to create a retro-hip club that is highlighted by some mouthwatering cuisine as well as excellent customer service and live music from musicians such as Ray Charles and KD Lang.
Muriel's seems to be the perfect blend of music, food and dance. The inside of the club comes with oversized chairs and couches made of velvet. The mezzanine is draped in rich red velvet with striking nighttime cityscape murals.
Without question one of the best reasons to plan a visit is the live music. The club attracts a variety of music style from big bands and swing to reggae and contemporary acts complete with cabaret performers.
For those that come to chow down, the club offers one of the biggest menus around. You can take your pick from things such as roasted duck, rack of lamb, venison, veal, lobster, Ahi tuna and salmon.
For those that want to take their dinning experience to the next level, Eggerling and pastry chef Ellen Yu gives weekly cooking classes. Yu takes guests through the finer aspects of entertaining, whether it be preparing food, selecting the finest wine and scotch or all the way down to a flavorful after dinner cigar.
Make no mistake,a trip to Muriel's is not a normal dinning experience. It is a class act, whether it be in the kitchen or up on stage.
